Delivery Information
Carefully prepared by hand and delivered directly from Gransfield to your door.
From our nursery to your garden
Every order is prepared personally at our nursery. We take the time to ensure each plant is healthy, properly cared for and securely packed before it begins its journey to you.
Delivery cost
Standard delivery costs £5.99 per order unless a free-delivery offer applies. The applicable delivery charge will always be clearly shown before you complete checkout.
Dispatch within 10 working days
Please allow up to 10 working days for your order to be dispatched. Working days do not include weekends or bank holidays.
This preparation period gives us the time required to carefully inspect, prune, weed and water every individual plant by hand before securely packing your order with care. Your order may be dispatched sooner, but we ask that you allow the full 10 working days before contacting us for an update.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your tracking information.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery
All orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48. This service aims to deliver within two to three working days after your order leaves Gransfield.
Royal Mail’s delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees, and delivery may take slightly longer during busy periods, severe weather or when sending to certain remote postcode areas.
Where we deliver
We deliver throughout the UK wherever Royal Mail Tracked 48 is available. Delivery aims may vary for remote locations and some postcode areas.
Every plant is prepared by hand
Before your order leaves our nursery, every plant is individually checked and prepared by hand. We remove weeds and damaged growth, prune where necessary and ensure each plant is properly watered before packing.
We take time over every order because we want your plants to arrive healthy, secure and ready to establish in your garden.
Why your plant may be cut back
Depending on the variety and time of year, some plants may need to be cut back before dispatch. Taller plants and varieties with delicate growth can move or become damaged inside the box if they are sent at their full height.
Cutting a plant back allows us to pack it more securely and helps it reach you in the best possible condition. This means your plant may not be in flower when it arrives, even if it was flowering when your order was placed.
Please rest assured that this is a normal part of preparing living plants for delivery. Cutting back does not affect the plant’s overall health and can encourage fresh, strong new growth once it has been planted.
The appearance of your plants
Plants are living, seasonal products, so their appearance will naturally vary throughout the year. Depending on the season, your plant may arrive in active growth, in flower, recently cut back or dormant.
Website photographs show how the variety can look when established or in flower and may not represent its exact size or appearance at the time of delivery.
Larger orders
Larger orders may be divided between more than one box to ensure the plants can be packed securely. Although we dispatch the boxes together, Royal Mail may occasionally deliver them separately.
Your tracking information will show whether your order has been sent in multiple parcels.
Delivery addresses
Please check that your name, postcode and full delivery address are correct before completing your order.
If you notice an error after ordering, please contact us as soon as possible at Gransfieldplants@gmail.com. Once an order has been packed or dispatched, we may not be able to change its delivery address.
Safe places and missed deliveries
Where available, Royal Mail may allow you to choose a safe place, preferred neighbour or alternative delivery option through your tracking information.
Please choose somewhere sheltered and secure. As your parcel contains living plants, we recommend bringing it inside and unpacking it as soon as possible after delivery.
When your plants arrive
Carefully remove your plants from the box as soon as possible. Packaging and foliage may have moved slightly during the journey, so allow the plants a little time to settle.
Check the compost and water the plants if required. Place them somewhere sheltered and appropriate for the variety until you are ready to plant them.
Damaged, delayed or missing orders
We carefully inspect and securely pack every order, but we understand that parcels can occasionally be delayed or damaged during transit.
If your parcel has not arrived within the expected period, please check your Royal Mail tracking information first. If you still require assistance, contact us and we will be happy to investigate it for you.
If a plant arrives damaged or you are concerned about its condition, please contact us as soon as possible at Gransfieldplants@gmail.com. Include your order number and clear photographs of the affected plant, its packaging and the outside of the box so we can assess the problem and help resolve it.
Please do not dispose of the plant or packaging until we have responded, as we may need further information.
